Mr. M. Ramalingam Joined Indian Navy in 1967 in the Technical Division. Graduated with Distinction in Engineering Diplomas in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics streams from Naval Engineering College, Post Graduate Marine Engineering Course done on erstwhile Soviet Origin Ship Borne Electrical, Electronics and Engine Room machineries at 'Petya Training School'. Served as a Member of 'Trial and Acceptance Team' for Leander Class Frigate Ships for Indian Navy. Competency Certificate of Electrical Engineer from Licensing Board, Maharashtra State Industrial and Electrical Department. During the Naval Service took active participation in the 1971 India - Pakistan war (Bangladesh Operation) serving onboard INS Vikrant (Aircraft Carrier) and in 1972 went to Chittagong - Bangladesh as advance technical team for setting of their Naval Base. Decorated with 1971 Indo Pak war Medal.

Worked at Dyanora Television Company, Solidaire Television, Own venture as partner in M/s Videlec Engineering and entered in to Hotel Industry in the year of 1990 with Hotel Golkonda Hyderabad then Velan Hotel Tirupur.

And joined the Maldivian Government Service and Worked as BUILDING MAINTENANCE ENGINEER in the Presidential Palace-Official Residence of His Excellency The President of The Republic of Maldives, Male'.

Later he joined with Le Royal Meridien Chennai, Radisson Hotel, Mahipalpur, Delhi and The Raintree Chennai (DURING THIS PERIOD THE CHENNAI HOTELS CHIEF ENGINEERS FORUM WAS FORMED AND THE INAGURAL MEETING WAS HELD HERE) then DLF SEZ IT Park, Chennai again with The Raintree Anna Salai and worked with many more property developers and professionals like Westin Velacherry, Carlson Group etc., Involved in projects and operations and focused and ensured on timely completion of the projects.

It was his ideas along with other Veterans in Hotel Industry Mr. G.A. Packianathan, S. Ramakrishnan, Jayakumar, Shankareswaran, Sasikumar, Subramaniam, Sugavanam, Veerasigamani, Saravanaraj and many more engineers to form a Chief Engineer Forum Chennai in the year 2006 to help each other to discuss, share knowledge thoughts and ideas for solutions.
